Ashley Franks
Hi everyone, My name is Ashley and I’m a 4th-year student in the collaborative BScN program and Vice President of NSTAMP. On the clinical side of nursing, I’m interested in critical care and emergency nursing, specifically in remote environments and underserved communities. I currently work on a street outreach/harm reduction team and that role has sparked my interest in northern/circumpolar public health and community health work. In the future, I hope to earn my master’s degree and do research within one of these areas.
Some of my favourite hobbies include haunting used book stores (reading), stumbling up various cliffs (hiking), staring at blank word documents (creative writing), and tuning out the world for a while (listening to true-crime podcasts and audio dramas). I read mostly speculative fiction and non-fiction and I’m always willing to give book recommendations!
A fun fact about me is my family home is in Whitehorse, Yukon, and our house is completely powered by solar energy.
