Our Programs

NSC Lab Facilitation

The Lab Facilitation Program offers YU nursing students the opportunity to revise and practice their clinical skills in a constructive and encouraging environment. Our lab facilitators are trained nursing students who host weekly or bi-weekly sessions on a variety of topics such as: head-to-toe assessments, wound care, NG/G/J tube care, etc.

Peer Tutoring

The Peer Tutoring Program connects current YU nursing students with trained upper year students who have previously taken, and excelled, in the course they are tutoring. Tutors host weekly drop-in sessions for a variety of courses across all three cohorts (collaborative, 2nd-entry, and IEN) which students can register for through their course page on EClass.

Peer Ambassadors

The Peer Ambassador Program provides YU nursing students with the opportunity to network with their peers, engage in professional development, and learn more about their options following graduation. Our ambassadors plan and host several events each month ranging from academic and nursing-profession related, to social aspects.

Peer Mentoring

The Peer Mentorship Program connects upper-year students to first-year and transfer students to help them transition into university, and connects graduate students and alumni to upper-level students to guide and provide advice about post-graduation career choices. Peer Mentors also provide incoming nursing students with guidance and useful tools for being successful throughout their time at York.
