Michelle Philip

Michelle Philip, 2021/2022 Peer Mentor

Hi, my name is Michelle Philip (she/her), and I am a fourth-year nursing student at York University. My future goals include working with infants and mothers. I hope to help mothers transition into motherhood and assist them where needed to ensure they have the best experience ever! I have experience working as a personal support worker and I am currently working with babies in the NICU and am really enjoying it. I am Indian/Canadian. I enjoy writing poems, going on walks in outdoor trails and reading inspirational pieces of writing. On fact about me is that I am a proud dog mom to my chihuahua mix, Chase. I love animals and nature and consider myself a passionate environmentalist. I can sympathize with other people’s stress when it comes to academics and have developed healthy coping mechanisms and tips to ensure learning is a positive experience.
